Buggy Vista

I got to use a course mate’s brand new HP Pavillion6000 laptop, which has a dual core processor and comes with Ms Vista Basic.

The box looked very neat and many will do a lot to have something like that but guess what, the operating system wont let us work.

Applications kept crashing and the OS wont allow you to download on the Internet.

They got me asking, why wont anybody use an OS like Linux? At least it has worked very well on all the boxes i’ve installed it on. Feisty will have made a good distro.

I’m considering convincing her to get feisty on her box and stop worrying about crashing application that do not even work very well.

Feisty Fawn

I installed the Ubuntu 7.04 (Feisty Fawn) on my box the other day and to tell you the fact, it is great.

I’ve always had a problem with mounting other disks in with previous versions but now all i have to do is click and it is mounted . It is even better in this case because you don’t have to worry about mounting NFTS cos it is also just click and it is mounted.

The interface also looks great and after customizing my desktop, i find Windows very boring.

Thats all i’ve noticed for now cos i’ve not had much time with my box lately.
